Hello Glenbrook Families!
I am pretty sure the consensus is that January was MUCH longer than 31 days! It is hard to believe that we are already into February. February is often referred to as the ‘love’ month. With Valentine’s Day in the middle of the month it is always a great time to center ourselves with kindness. I am often reminded that we never know what someone else is dealing with. In a world full of ‘Instagram’ life, we only see snapshots and it can be easy to make assumptions that someone else’s life is much better than our own. It can be easy to fall into the social media abyss and worry that we ourselves are not good enough, need to do more, or different to ‘be better’. The flip side to that is we do not actually know what the real story behind the snapshots are. It is the story of a person beyond ‘Insta’ that we often forget is there. You truly never know what someone may be dealing with or going through unless you take the time to hear their story – often, you may be surprised by the reality behind the pictures. This is why it is so important to check in on people. A simple smile, hello, how are you doing, can often go a long way. Acknowledging someone and checking in may be just the thing they needed to feel connected, and to know they are not alone. There is power in this connection, and in these kindness moments. We are grateful to have the opportunity to make these connections with you and your children every day.

Accessing Online Report Cards
Families can view, download or print online report cards for kindergarten to Grade 12 students on Monday, January 27 until May 30, 2025 through MyCBE. Within MyCBE, families can also view student information and attendance information. Report cards summarize and communicate student achievement at a point in time. In addition to the report card, schools communicate with parents/guardians about student progress on an ongoing basis in a variety of ways. Learn more about assessment and reporting.
For technical support or more information about MyCBE, visit Technical Support for Students & Parents.

School Council Message
Meeting
Our next School Council meeting will be held on Monday, February 24 at 7:00 pm. As always, all parents and guardians are encouraged to attend.
Playground update
We will be applying for many grants and fundraising as much as we can to raise the $400,000 we will need to build our new playground. If you have any experience writing grants or know of any corporate donors who can contribute to the playground, please reach out!
Planning for next year
We need to plan for next year as our current chair will be leaving Glenbrook. We will need someone to take over the role of chair, as well as a fundraising coordinator and a fun lunch coordinator. If you would like to know more, please email glenbrookpc@gmail.com or join us for our next meeting.
Fun lunch
Our next fun lunch is Mucho Burrito on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Parents/guardians must to https://healthyhunger.ca/ to purchase your child’s lunch by Saturday, February 15, 2025. Students who have not purchased online will not be receiving a fun lunch. If your student is not in attendance on the day of Fun Lunch you can call the school office to arrange for pick up or let the school know if they can donate the lunch.
All fun lunches for the school year are now set up on Healthy Hunger. You can order one at a time, a few at a time, or for the whole year!
Volunteer Opportunity
We need a few parent volunteers for next month’s fun lunch. Please click the link to signup to help hand out lunches
