Hello Glenbrook Families!
With the sun out longer these days and the nicer weather, we encourage you to spend time together with friends, family and loved ones, outside and in nature. Take time to connect, breathe, and enjoy the chance to have a different routine this week.
Our students will be engaging in more land-based learning activities as the weather warms as well as some engaging in some outdoor learning during physical education classes.
Warm regards,
Cindy & Tracey

Bussing and Transportation Changes for Next Year
For the 2025-26 school year, the CBE will be expanding yellow bus service and adjusting walk zones. This is in response to School Transportation Amendment Regulation for student transportation that comes into effect on Sept. 1, 2025. It is the provincial government's intent to increase the number of students who can access transportation by changing the transportation eligibility distance and how the distance is measured.
When changes are made to yellow bus transportation, it has an impact on bell times for schools. That’s because bell times are directly connected to transportation. Aligning bell times across schools makes transportation more efficient, allowing each bus to run multiple routes. This creates a reliable transportation system, ensuring students get to school safely, on time and ready to learn.
For the 2025 –2026 school year, the bell times at Glenbrook School will be Monday to Thursday 9:15 AM - 3:53 PM. Friday early dismissal will be 12:53 PM

Amazon Teacher Wish List
Our teachers work tirelessly to provide the best education and care for our children, often going above and beyond to ensure their classrooms are inspiring and equipped for learning. To support their incredible efforts, Glenbrook School Council has created an Amazon wish list featuring items that will directly benefit their classrooms.
It's easy to help! Simply visit the wish list, select the items you'd like to contribute, and have them sent directly to the school. Your generosity will make a big difference in fostering a positive and resourceful learning environment for our students.

Thank you for supporting our wonderful teachers and the amazing work they do every day.
Meeting
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, April 23 at 7:00 pm. School council meetings are more than just administrative gatherings—they’re a way for parents to make a tangible difference in the school environment and, ultimately, in their child’s educational experience, so we encourage all parents and guardians to attend!
Spring Fling Family Dance
Please join us for our Spring Fling Family Dance on Thursday, April 17 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. We will have a live DJ spinning music, $1 concession and $5 cotton candy. Admission is by donation. All students MUST be accompanied by an adult.
Planning for Next School Year: We Need Your Help!
Glenbrook School Council plays a vital role in creating a thriving school community, and we're already gearing up for the next school year! To continue our work, we’re seeking enthusiastic parent volunteers to step into key roles: Chair, Vice Chair, Fun Lunch Coordinator, and Fundraising Coordinator.
If you’re passionate about supporting our school and want to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can ensure another successful year for our students!
For more information or to express interest, please contact Jane at glenbrookpc@gmail.com
Thank you for considering this opportunity to be part of something great!
Fun Lunch
Our next fun lunch is Boston Pizza on Thursday, April 17, 2025. Parents/guardians must go to https://healthyhunger.ca/ to purchase your child’s lunch by Saturday, April 12, 2025. Students who have not purchased online will not be receiving a fun lunch. If your student is not in attendance on the day of Fun Lunch you can call the school office to arrange for pick up or let the school know if they can donate the lunch.
All fun lunches for the school year are now set up on Healthy Hunger. You can order one at a time, a few at a time, or for the whole year!
Volunteer Opportunity
Making fun lunches happen is a team effort, and we need your help! Volunteering to hand out lunches takes just one hour of your time, yet it makes a big difference for our students and staff. If you’re available, we’d love for you to join us in creating a smooth and enjoyable lunch experience. It’s a simple way to contribute and connect with our school community.
