Hello Glenbrook Families!

As we step into the month of April, we welcome a season of renewal, growth, and endless possibilities! April is a special time of year when we watch nature wake up from its winter slumber, and our students continue to blossom both academically and socially.

This month, we encourage our students to embrace the spirit of spring by exploring the world around them. It’s a perfect time for outdoor activities and learning about the changes in nature. Whether it’s planting a garden, going for nature walks, or simply enjoying the sunshine, we hope to inspire curiosity and creativity.

April also brings some exciting events to our school calendar such as celebrating Earth Day Activities**: Let’s come together to celebrate our planet and learn about ways to protect it. We’ll have projects and activities to engage our students in environmental stewardship.

As always, we encourage open communication between teachers, parents, and students. Your involvement and support make a significant difference in creating a nurturing and enriching learning environment.

Let’s make this April one filled with joy, laughter, and learning! Thank you for being an integral part of our community

Inspiration

Just like a seed grows into a beautiful flower, each one of us has the potential to blossom and shine! Remember, growth may come with challenges, but every challenge is an opportunity to learn and become even stronger. Embrace the journey, support one another, and let your kindness and curiosity lead the way. Together, we can create a garden of dreams where everyone can thrive.”

Weekly Wonder

This week, let's wonder about the magic of growth and renewal! What happens when we plant a seed in the soil? How does it know when to sprout? Take time to observe nature around us—look at how trees shed their leaves and grow new ones, or how flowers bloom after winter. How can we also experience renewal in our own lives as we learn, try new things, and help each other grow?

Amazon Teacher Wish List

Our teachers work tirelessly to provide the best education and care for our children, often going above and beyond to ensure their classrooms are inspiring and equipped for learning. To support their incredible efforts, Glenbrook School Council has created an Amazon wish list featuring items that will directly benefit their classrooms.

It's easy to help! Simply visit the wishlist, select the items you'd like to contribute, and have them sent directly to the school. Your generosity will make a big difference in fostering a positive and resourceful learning environment for our students.

Thank you for supporting our wonderful teachers and the amazing work they do every day.

Meeting

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, April 23 at 7:00 pm. School council meetings are more than just administrative gatherings—they’re a way for parents to make a tangible difference in the school environment and, ultimately, in their child’s educational experience, so we encourage all parents and guardians to attend!

Spring Fling Family Dance

Please join us for our Spring Fling Family Dance on Thursday, April 17 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. We will have a live DJ spinning music, $1 concession and $5 cotton candy. Admission is by donation. All students MUST be accompanied by an adult.

Planning for Next School Year: We Need Your Help!

Glenbrook School Council plays a vital role in creating a thriving school community, and we're already gearing up for the next school year! To continue our work, we’re seeking enthusiastic parent volunteers to step into key roles: Chair, Vice Chair, Fun Lunch Coordinator, and Fundraising Coordinator.

If you’re passionate about supporting our school and want to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can ensure another successful year for our students!

For more information or to express interest, please contact Jane at glenbrookpc@gmail.com

Thank you for considering this opportunity to be part of something great!

Fun Lunch

Our next fun lunch is Boston Pizza on Thursday, April 17, 2025. Parents/guardians must go to https://healthyhunger.ca/ to purchase your child’s lunch by Saturday, April 12, 2025.  Students who have not purchased online will not be receiving a fun lunch.  If your student is not in attendance on the day of Fun Lunch you can call the school office to arrange for pick up or let the school know if they can donate the lunch.

All fun lunches for the school year are now set up on Healthy Hunger.  You can order one at a time, a few at a time, or for the whole year!

Volunteer Opportunity

Making fun lunches happen is a team effort, and we need your help! Volunteering to hand out lunches takes just one hour of your time, yet it makes a big difference for our students and staff. If you’re available, we’d love for you to join us in creating a smooth and enjoyable lunch experience. It’s a simple way to contribute and connect with our school community.
