Dear Glenbrook Families,
What a wonderful week it has been at our school! Although there will be a shorter stretch on the calendar, we are making the most of every moment together. The beautiful burst of warm weather has lifted spirits across the building—students have enjoyed extra time outdoors, reconnecting with friends, and soaking in the sunshine that feels like a hint of early spring.
Even with fewer instructional days, classrooms have been buzzing with learning. We appreciate your support at home in helping students transition smoothly into and out of shorter weeks—your partnership truly makes a difference.
With temperatures feeling more like April than February, our outdoor spaces have been lively! Please continue to send your child with appropriate layers, as Calgary weather can change quickly—warm mornings sometimes shift to chilly afternoons.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing information about celebrations, learning showcases, and school-wide events. Please keep an eye on your inbox for details.
Student Wellness
This time of year often brings renewed energy—and sometimes big feelings—as routines change. Our staff continues to support students in building emotional regulation, resilience, and connection.
We are grateful for your ongoing support and engagement. Short weeks like this coming one remind us how quickly time passes and how important it is to stay connected as a school community. Thank you for your partnership as we continue to grow, learn, and celebrate together.
This is also Mrs. Bombard’s final week at Glenbrook School, and we wish her all the very best in her new role.
Wishing you a restful weekend and more sunshine ahead!
Warm regards,
Cindy & Tracey
Staffing Update
We are pleased to announce that the new Assistant Principal for Glenbrook School is Diana Davison. Mrs. Davison comes to us from Chris Akkerman School, where she served as a Learning Leader and Resource Teacher. She will begin at Glenbrook School on February 17.
Introduction from Mrs. Davison
Hello Glenbrook School Community,
My name is Diana Davison, and I am so excited to be joining Glenbrook School as Assistant Principal.
I’ve been fortunate to hold a range of classroom and leadership roles, including teaching Grades 2 through 5 and serving as an Acting Assistant Principal. I have also worked in several Learning Leader positions, including Resource, Inclusive Programming, Literacy Intervention, and English as an Additional Language. These diverse experiences have allowed me to collaborate with and learn from incredible teachers and leaders.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family. My 10-year-old son is an avid sports enthusiast, while my 12-year-old daughter loves all things creative and artistic—they definitely keep me busy and bring so much joy to my life!
I am truly looking forward to joining the incredible team at Glenbrook School and partnering with staff, students, and families.
Sincerely,
Diana Davison
Valentine’s Day at Glenbrook School
At Glenbrook School, we celebrate Valentine’s Day by focusing on Kindness and Friendship.
- If students bring Valentine’s cards, they must be for the entire class, not just a small group of friends
- Participation is optional
- No food or snack treats are permitted for sharing at school
Report Cards
Report cards are a valuable tool that help families understand student progress, celebrate growth, and identify areas where additional support may be helpful. Reviewing report cards together can also spark meaningful conversations about learning goals and next steps.
- Report cards will be available online on February 24
- Access through your Parent MYCBE account
We encourage families to review the report card information and contact your child’s teacher with any questions or to discuss learning in more detail.
