Hello Glenbrook Families!

As we approach the much-anticipated Spring Break, we want to take a moment to wish you and your family a restful, rejuvenating, and joyful time together. Whether you're taking a trip, enjoying time at home, or simply relaxing, we hope you create beautiful memories and come back refreshed for the month of April.

We are excited to welcome April with open arms and look forward to all the growth and opportunities this month will bring.

We hope this Spring Break is filled with warmth and happiness, and we can't wait to see all the amazing things April will bring when we return to school on March 31.

May the blooming flowers remind us of the beauty of growth and renewal in our own lives.

Weekly Wonder

Have you ever wondered how birds know when to migrate? As we begin to see more birds and flowers in the coming weeks, take a moment to notice the natural rhythms around you.

School Conferences

School Conferences Conference will be held online tonight and tomorrow:

  • Thursday March 20 – 5:10 PM - – 7:50 PM
  • Friday, March 21 – 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

We are excited to celebrate the success of our Glenbrook students. Parent Teacher Conferences are one of the ways teachers communicate how your child is progressing in their learning. Teachers may also share learning progress through your child’s daily work and assignments, and other ongoing communication with you.

Planning for Next School Year

In preparation for the 2025 - 2026 school year, we are asking that parents/guardians of students from kindergarten to Grade 5 complete this short survey regarding their plans for their children's education for the 2025 - 2026 school year. This will help us with making planning decisions for the upcoming school year. Thank you in advance! The link was also sent out on March 12 via School Messenger.

School Planning Engagement Survey

The SDP Engagement Survey is in place to provide feedback from families on school planning, which includes the school development plan, school budget, and school fees. When students, staff and families work together, students experience greater success. This is also where you can give your feedback about clubs, fieldtrips and other activities. It will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. We thank in advance for taking part in the survey.

Our School Development Plan can be found on our website here:  Our School

We appreciate all of your responses and welcome your feedback.

School Council Message

Meeting

Thank you to everyone who joined our online school council and fundraising society meetings this week. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, April 23 at 7pm. School council meetings are more than just administrative gatherings—they’re a way for parents to make a tangible difference in the school environment and, ultimately, in their child’s educational experience, so we encourage all parents and guardians to attend!

Planning for Next School Year: We Need Your Help!

Glenbrook School Council plays a vital role in creating a thriving school community, and we're already gearing up for the next school year! To continue our work, we’re seeking enthusiastic parent volunteers to step into key roles: Chair, Vice Chair, Fun Lunch Coordinator, and Fundraising Coordinator.

If you’re passionate about supporting our school and want to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can ensure another successful year for our students!

For more information or to express interest, please contact Jane at glenbrookpc@gmail.com

Thank you for considering this opportunity to be part of something great!

Rebel Bean Coffee & Tea Fundraiser

Glenbrook School Council is excited to partner with Rebel Bean, a local roaster in Okotoks, for a coffee and tea fundraiser! This is an excellent opportunity to support our school and a fantastic local business! Orders can be made online until March 21 and will be delivered to students after spring break. IMPORTANT: When placing an online order, under "which fundraiser", you must Include "Glenbrook School - Student's Full Name – Homeroom. Please go to:  Rebel Bean Fundraising to place an order.

Fun Lunch

Our next fun lunch is Boston Pizza on Thursday, April 17, 2025. Parents/guardians must go to Healthy Hunger to purchase your child’s lunch by Saturday, April 12, 2025.  Students who have not purchased online will not be receiving a fun lunch.  If your student is not in attendance on the day of Fun Lunch you can call the school office to arrange for pick up or let the school know if they can donate the lunch.

All fun lunches for the school year are now set up on Healthy Hunger.  You can order one at a time, a few at a time, or for the whole year!

Volunteer Opportunity

Making fun lunches happen is a team effort, and we need your help! Volunteering to hand out lunches takes just one hour of your time, yet it makes a big difference for our students and staff. If you’re available, we’d love for you to join us in creating a smooth and enjoyable lunch experience. It’s a simple way to contribute and connect with our school community.

If you know of any corporate sponsorship opportunities, please contact Michelle or Jane at glenbrookpc@gmail.com with the information. If you would like to help with grant writing or sponsorship applications, please feel free to reach out!
