Glenbrook Growler Oct. 16-20 | Secret Path, Shoes & Weather, Fun Lunch
Our Week at a Glance email is sent out once a week with the intent to provide you with the most up to date information with what is happening at Glenbrook School.
Weekly Wonder
The #DoSomething hashtag is part of the Secret Path movement. A reconciliACTION is a meaningful action that moves reconciliation forward. ReconciliACTIONs aim to bring Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples together in the spirit of reconciliation to create awareness, share, and learn. Take ReconciliACTION in your community this Secret Path Week.
Next Week our school will be participating in the Secret Path walk as classrooms. Secret Path Week Oct. 17-22. The Secret Path Week starts with Gord Downie’s death on Oct. 17 and concludes with Chanie Wenjak’s death on Oct. 22. These two individuals never met, but they are now linked in what Gord Downie considered to be the most important project he had ever been involved in. I know most of you know this story well and the music that accompanies it. Here is some more information about the walk

Indoor Shoes and Weather Changes
As the weather begins to change we notice extremely muddy hallways because some of our students do not have indoor shoes. Can you please ensure that your child comes to school with indoor shoes for Monday. Please let us know if they need a pair and we will try and find a pair for them. Students should also be dressed for the weather because they will be going outside each day for lessons, recess and lunch recess. They need layers and a change of clothes in backpacks in case they get wet.

Our casino is quickly approaching and we still have 2 vacant positions! Vacant positions for Saturday, November 4 are: 11am-7:15pm Banker and 7pm-3:45am Chip Runner. Backup for all shifts are vacant as well. If you sign up for backup, you will only be called if someone can't make their scheduled shift. Casinos can bring in upwards of $70000 for our students! This is a really fun and easy way to contribute. No experience is necessary, we have advisors with us the whole time that will help guide us. Meals and snacks are provided and there is free underground parking. Taxi rides to and from the casino will be provided for those who need a ride. If you have any questions, please send an email to glenbrookpc@gmail.com and we would be happy to help!
