Hello Glenbrook Families!
As human beings we crave connection and build relationships for places to share our best and worst moments... someone to have as a soft place to land. Whatever you may be going through, remember, the relationships you have and the connections you hold are the people to celebrate with and your soft place to land.
Take the time this week to look for something positive happening in your life and think about what you are grateful for.
Take care,
Cindy & Tracey

School Conferences
Parent-teacher conferences are an opportunity to engage in conversation about your child’s learning. Parents/guardians and teachers are able to connect face-to-face and communicate openly about student learning, especially with respect to areas of strength and areas of growth. They help build and sustain respectful relationships that allow both parties to share information and develop strategies to support student success.
Please book your conference with your student’s teacher using your MyCBE account.
School Conference will take place during the evening of Thursday, October 24 with bookings between 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM and Friday, October 25 with bookings between 8:30 AM to 1:15 PM.
Veteran’s Food Bank
Help support our veterans - please bring a non-perishable food item for the Veteran’s food bank. Between October 21 – November 7 there will be food boxes set up outside of the office where students can place their food items.

Grizzly Time
In order to build a strong school community and connections across our school, we will have students take part in special Grizzly Time events throughout the school year. We have placed all students into multi-age groupings that will work together to achieve goals together. Each time they do, they can receive points for their teams. They will also receive points by taking part in some special events. These will be shared through teachers and this newsletter as they come about.

School Council Message
Meeting Information
Please join us on Tuesday, October 22 at 7:00 pm for our next school council meeting. As always, all parents and guardians are encouraged to attend. We have a few positions that need to be filled, such as playground committee chair, casino coordinator and vice chair. There is no obligation to take on one of these roles, you can just come and listen! If you would like to get involved but are unable to attend the meeting, please contact us at glenbrookpc@gmail.com.
Our next big project is building a new playground, as our current playground has reached the end of its life. A new playground will cost us approximately $300,000. This is money that needs to be raised by parents through fundraising and grants. The CBE will tear down our existing playground whether or not we are ready to build a new one. If you have any corporate donor connections or experience with grant writing, PLEASE reach out!
Fun Lunch
Our next fun lunch is Papa John’s Pizza on Thursday, November 21. Parents/guardians must go to www.healthyhunger.ca to purchase your child’s lunch by Saturday, November 16. Students who have not purchased online will not be receiving a fun lunch. If your student is not in attendance on the day of Fun Lunch you can call the school office to arrange for pick up or let the school know if they can donate the lunch.
All fun lunches for the school year are now set up on Healthy Hunger. You can order one at a time, a few at a time, or for the whole year! Please note that December's fun lunch will be on the third Wednesday of the month (18) rather than the normal Thursday.
Mabel's Labels
