We are delighted to be participating in this year’s Adopt a School fundraiser which will run from October 10 – 31! During these three weeks, our partner store will fundraise on behalf of our school and our school can also fundraise by collecting cash donations or through our school’s online fundraising page by following this link: Indigo Love of Reading - Glenbrook School

Our partner store(s) this year is Indigo Signal Hill located in the Signal Hill Centre S.W. You can also donate in person at the store if you shop there. Please share this link with family and friends and help us achieve our fundraising goal. All funds will be used to purchase books for our school library.

Common Language

At Glenbrook School, we have created and live by sharing our common language. Our common language is”

  • Be Kind
  • Be safe
  • Be Friendly
  • Be Caring
  • Be Responsible

When we work with our students we apply this language to each student being a leader, every day, regardless of their grade. Leaders are not a leader in the moment, but rather leaders in an ongoing way, always thinking about how to motivate and guide others. A good student leader understands their responsibility as a role model to the younger students. Not only do they recognize this responsibility, but a good leader is excited about the opportunity to lead and guide others! They would never ask anyone to do anything that they are not willing to do themselves. When we catch our students demonstrating leadership, we are awarding them Leadership bracelets.

Halloween

This year at Glenbrook School we will celebrate Halloween by allowing students who would like to dress up in a costume to do so on October 31.

Students who wish to wear a costume must follow these rules when dressing up to celebrate:

  • Costumes are allowed· Costume masks are not allowed
  • No weapons or gore allowed--No costume accessories...... wands, gloves, broom, canes, etc
  • No outside or homemade treats or food to be brought into the school as there will be no sharing of food or parties
  • No costume parades/Halloween parties
  • Students must still be able to participate in Phys-Ed classes and all other learning opportuni ties that day
  • Students must dress appropriately for outside weather
