Attendance
Regular attendance is key to student success. Please note that you must notify the office if your child will be absent or late. You can call the school at 403-777-8320 and press 1 for the attendance line to leave a message. Please leave a message with your child’s name, grade, and teacher, please spell your child’s last name slowly.

Medical Forms
A Student Health Plan is required yearly if your child has any allergies or medical conditions, we need to be aware of. In addition to this form, an Emergency Response Protocol is required for life threatening allergies and health conditions. These forms are also to be completed for any students who require medication to be stored at the school. You can find these forms at Forms You Need. These forms can be dropped off at our main office or emailed to glenbrook@cbe.ab.ca. You can also obtain the health forms from our school office.
Student Contact Information
Please ensure that you have updated your contact information on the Demographic Verification form in your MyCBE account if there has been any change in phone number, address or pick up contacts.
Busing and Transportation
Bus stop information is now available in your MyCBE account. Busing is not managed at the school level. If you have any questions related to bussing, you should contact the CBE Transportation department via email at transportation@cbe.ab.ca.
Reminders: Footwear
Students must have two pairs of footwear at school each day. One of the pairs is for indoor use and the other for outdoor use. The indoor shoes should have non-marking soles that they could use in the Physical Education program. As snow, dirt and mud in our hallways and classrooms create a safety hazard, we ask that outdoor footwear be removed at the students’ entrance. Platform shoes, roller shoes, flip-flops, and soccer cleats, etc. are not acceptable for safety reasons as well as maintaining school cleanliness.

School Council Message
A BIG thank you to everyone who made the Meet the Teacher event such a success. It was wonderful to see parents, students and teachers connecting and building community. Your presence made all the difference. Special thanks to the many volunteers who helped plan, set up and clean up following the event, to our wonderful Glenbrook School teachers, admin and staff for their warmth and engagement, the Abundant Life Church, Candyman Cory and the various food truck vendors for ensuring we were well fed and entertained. This is just the beginning of what we hope to accomplish this school year.
If you are interested in learning more about our school community from our Principal and Assistant Principal, helping to plan and organize events and fundraisers or simply want to support your school's learning environment, then joining our first Parent Council meeting of the year is for you! We will meet on Monday, September 15 at 7:00 pm at the school and we hope to see many of you there. Your ideas, enthusiasm, questions and presence are valued.
Stay tuned for more information on our school lunch fundraiser program, Healthy Hunger. We will post the first lunch date in the coming weeks. If you have questions about the parent council or wish to volunteer please reach out via email we will be happy to connect with you.
Please note that whether you join us for our upcoming meeting or not there are lots of ways to participate in the school community, including volunteering at our upcoming casino night. This is an opportunity to help our school raise over 60,000 dollars! If you are able to help run the event behind the scenes in official roles like banker, chip runner, count room, and cashier please sign up here.
This year one of our big goals is to raise enough funds to build our playground. Michelle Ibbotson is leading this initiative and successfully wrote a grant application to the Calgary Parks Foundation for $50,000. This is a good start to our initiative, but we still have more work to do and funds to raise.
Thanks again for helping to make our first event of the year one to remember.
