Hello Glenbrook Families!
From a full moon, Red Sun, and nature walks and learning galore... It was a very eventful week, and we made it through together! September is always such an exciting and stress filled time with new groups of students, new teams, new schools for some. It is a sense of renewal and new beginnings and a comfort of the routine and rhythm of the day. There are always things that come up to get in the way of all of that, some of them I listed at the beginning of this message, the problems that we solve along the way each day, however there are always so many things that can bring us back to what got us here in the first place, and that is the children! It is the joy that they bring us through the little things. There are so many wins each day that we all have to celebrate. We work together to collaborate, find solutions and solve problems, create spaces for learning and to foster friendships, and that is the magic that is Glenbrook. We are so grateful to have everyone together for such an amazing year
Take care,
Cindy & Tracey

Volunteering
All volunteers must have a current CBE Police Clearance. Clearances are valid for 5 years and can be transferred from other CBE schools. If you require a new CBE clearance, please use this link and follow the instructions: Get Involved
Attendance
Regular attendance is key to student success. Please note that you must notify the office if your child will be absent or late. You can call the school at 403-777-8320 and press 1 for the attendance line to leave a message. Please leave a message with your child’s name, grade, and teacher, please spell your child’s last name slowly.
Dogs
Please note that dogs are not permitted on the school grounds. This is the City of Calgary Bylaw. Feel free to stand on the sidewalk and wave with your pet.
Medical Forms
Please complete a medical form if your child has any allergies or medical conditions, we need to be aware of. This form is also to be completed for any students who require medication at school or medication to be administered.
MyCBE
Create a MyCBE Account. Please make sure you have registered for your MyCBE account. Contact the main office if you require your child’s CBE ID number.
Student Contact Information
Please ensure that you have updated your contact information on the Demographic Verification form in your MyCBE account if there has been any change in phone number, address or pick up contacts.
Busing and Transportation
Bus stop information is now available in your MyCBE account. Busing is not managed at the school level. If you have any questions related to bussing, you should contact the CBE Transportation department via email at transportation@cbe.ab.ca.
Reminders: Footwear
Students must have two pairs of footwear at school each day.
One of the pairs is for indoor use and the other for outdoor use. The indoor shoes should have non-marking soles that they could use in the Physical Education program. As snow, dirt and mud in our hallways and classrooms create a safety hazard, we ask that outdoor footwear be removed at the students’ entrance. Platform shoes, roller shoes, flip-flops, and soccer cleats, etc. are not acceptable for safety reasons as well as maintaining school cleanliness.
