Hello Glenbrook Families,

Reconnect, Refocus, Refine...

Inspiration| Refocus: /re·fo·cus/: focus (attention or resources) on something new or different, to focus again: such as. A: to adjust (something, such as a camera or a lens) again to make an image clear."

Last week we took time to reconnect. This past week and next we refocus and reflect. Last week we took time to acknowledge Remembrance Day, a time for reflection and gratitude. During a touching ceremony led by Mr. Kowalchuk and some of our Grade 6 students, we honored the sacrifices made by so many, while also taking a moment to reconnect with the values that bring us together as a community—strength, resilience, and the importance of remembering our shared history.

In the words of the late Maya Angelou, “We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter their color.” As we paused to remember those who served, let us also re-connect with the strength of our own community. Whether through our shared work or the individual bonds we form with students, each of us contributes to the fabric that supports our school.

Glenbrook School has been woven together with many threads along the way. We have such a beautiful community where students are able to connect their learning and understanding. As we move through reconnection to refocus and refine, we move forward together as a strong community.

Let’s take this opportunity to reflect on what unites us, and to continue to foster a nurturing, inclusive environment for all.

Take care,

❤️
