Happy Easter and hello, spring—even if today looks a little snowy!  While we may be seeing some snowflakes outside our windows today, the good news is that warmer weather is in the forecast, and brighter spring days are just around the corner.

This season is a wonderful time for new beginnings, fresh air, and enjoying time with family and friends. Our Glenbrook students have been working hard and showing great kindness, creativity, and enthusiasm in their learning, and we are very proud of them.

Whether you are celebrating Easter, enjoying the spring break, or simply looking forward to sunshine and playground weather, we hope this time brings rest, laughter, and lots of smiles.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back ready for learning, playing, and enjoying all that spring has to offer—snow boots today, runners soon!

Wishing all our Glenbrook families a safe, happy, and joyful Easter weekend.  We will see everyone on Monday, April 6.

With appreciation,

Cindy& Diana

School Council Message

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who helped make our Book Fair such a success. Your willingness to show up and support our school community made a huge difference for our students and for our library.

We are also excited to share some wonderful news: our playground rebuild is now just $3,000 away from reaching our goal! We are so close to making this dream a reality for our children. If you are able, please consider donating to our project online through Parks Foundation Calgary using the QR code found on the webpage

We would also love to invite you to our Annual Spring Dance on April 23 from 6:00–8:00 PM. This is a fun evening for students and their families, with free entry and an optional suggested donation of $10 per family if you are able.

To help make this event a success, we are looking for parent volunteers. If you are available to help, please sign up using the link below:

Thank you for continuing to support our school community in so many meaningful ways!

Healthy Hunger

Our next Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch is Hankki on Wednesday, April 29.  The order cut off date is Friday, April 24.

Healthy Hunger is an easy online fundraising program that lets parents order special hot lunches and treats for their children while supporting our school. A portion of every order goes directly back to Glenbrook, helping fund activities and resources for our students. Simply sign up at https://healthyhunger.ca/, select our school, your child’s class, and start ordering!

Bottle Drive

Hello, Glenbrook families, we are hosting a Bottle Drive next week on Friday, April 10th from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. There will be a truck located in the school’s teacher parking lot with a parent volunteer during that time, which you can come and make your bottle drop off. Save your bottles this long weekend!

Your support and contribution with this fundraiser will help fund our playground project or future educational learning experiences for Glenbrook School students. Thank you for your ongoing support!

Math and Literacy Games

School Council has provided our school with a variety of math and literacy games.  We have put them into bags, and we have put them into our library Catalogue.  Mrs. Montgomery has been talking to all of the classes about these games and next week we will let students sign them out for a one-week loan.  These games are intended to be played with families at home and a fun way to connect.  If you would like a game, you could also send Mrs. Montgomery a message at ramontgomery@cbe.ab.ca.  Please make sure all of the game's pieces and items are back in the bag before returning it back to the school.
