Hello Glenbrook Families!
The Spirit of the Holidays
As we approach the holiday season, we are reminded that this time of year is about more than decorations and gifts—it’s about kindness, gratitude, and community. The holidays give us an opportunity to pause, reflect, and celebrate the connections that make our school such a special place.
We encourage families to share moments of joy, lend a helping hand, and embrace the spirit of giving in ways that matter most to you. Whether it’s through a simple act of kindness, volunteering, or spending time together, these gestures create lasting memories and strengthen the bonds that unite us.
Acts of Kindness Ideas
- Write a thank-you note to someone who made a difference this year.
- Donate gently used books or winter clothing to a local charity.
- Bake treats and share them with a neighbor or friend.
- Offer to help someone with errands or snow shoveling.
- Share words of encouragement with classmates or colleagues.
Thank you for being an important part of our school community. Wishing you peace, joy, and warmth throughout the holiday season!
Take care,
Cindy & Tracey
Lost and Found Items
The Glenbrook School Lost and Found has many items that have gone unclaimed, please feel free to come into the school during school hours and take a look at the tables and coat racks.
School Council Message
Thank you for being part of our Parent Council mailing list this year! We’re reaching out because there are some meaningful ways you can get involved in the life of our school — whether you’re looking for a simple one-time opportunity or something more ongoing. Your support, in any form, helps strengthen our school community, and we would love to partner with you.
Below are several ways to participate:
1. Popcorn Order Sorting & Distribution – Tuesday, December 16 at 9:15 a.m.
Our latest Kernels popcorn orders will arrive next week, and we need a few helping hands to organize, bag, and distribute them to classrooms. This is a fun, quick way to lend a hand and help bring a smile to students’ faces when their orders arrive.
Sign up here if you are available to help on December 16th. : https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0D4CACAA2BABFB6-61141035-popcorn
2. Winter Holiday Staff Appreciation
As we prepare for the holiday season, we want to show our amazing staff how much they mean to our community. There are many ways to help — sending in a Christmas card, dropping off holiday baking or fruit/veggies, or supporting setup on the day. Every contribution, big or small, helps create a thoughtful and festive experience for our staff.

3. Longer-Term Volunteer Roles
If you’re interested in getting more involved, we have a few ongoing positions that play an important role in supporting school initiatives:
- Fundraising Coordinator
- Spring Concert Support
- Playground Committee Volunteer
These roles are flexible and can be shaped around your availability. We’d love to chat if you’re curious! Sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0D4CACAA2BABFB6-61154115-glenbrook
4. Join Our January Parent Council Meeting
Our next Parent Council meeting will be held online in January. If you’ve ever wondered what Parent Council does, or you’re exploring ways to be more connected to the school, you are warmly invited to attend as an observer. No commitment — just a great chance to learn and ask questions.
Thank you for considering these opportunities. Whether you can give a few minutes or take on a longer role, your participation helps build a caring, connected school community for all our children. We truly appreciate you!
