Principal Update

Thank You

As we move toward the end of March, we want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership and support. Our school has been a busy place with lots of learning, growth, and preparation happening across classrooms.

Spring Break

Spring Break is just around the corner, and we hope it provides our students and families with a well‑deserved opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy time together. School will be closed during Spring Break, and we look forward to welcoming students back refreshed and ready to learn.  Please ensure students return on Monday, March 30 with a positive mindset for the final stretch of the school year.

Kindness

A special thank you to Mr. Kowalchuk and the Grade 4/5 & 6 teaching teams for a wonderful assembly focused on kindness, respect and love.  It was a wonderful opportunity for the students to showcase their learning in many different ways. Thank you for attending and making it a special event for your child.

Parent-Teacher (Student-Led) Conferences

We are excited to share that Student‑Led Conferences will take place this Thursday, March 19 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and this Friday, March 20 from 9:00 AM to1:30 PM. These conferences are an important opportunity for students to share their learning, reflect on their progress, and set goals with the support of their families and teachers. Students are proud of their learning and excited to share that with their families.  This format helps students build confidence, ownership, and accountability for their learning. Teachers are present to support and answer questions, but the focus is on the student’s voice and their learning journey.

Going Forward

As we head into April, we are looking forward to continued learning, upcoming activities, and warmer spring weather. Thank you for your ongoing engagement and for being such an important part of our school community.

Playground

Playground update: We are now ONLY $3,000 shy of our goal to build this year!!  Help us get there to make this happen by donating to our project online using the QR code through Parks Foundation Calgary. 100% of donations go towards our project and tax receipts will be issued for online donations. Thank you to all of the community members who have supported us in every way possible!

Ongoing Support

As always, thank you for your ongoing support, kindness, and involvement in our school community. Glenbrook continues to be a warm and vibrant place because of our students and the families who surround them.  We wish all our families a safe, restful, and enjoyable Spring Break.

Important Information

Math and Literacy Games

School Council has provided our school with a variety of math and literacy games. We have put them into bags, and we have put them into our library Catalogue. Mrs. Montgomery has been talking to all the classes about these games and next week we will let students sign them out for a one-week loan. These games are intended to be played with families at home and a fun way to connect.

If you would like a game, you could also send Mrs. Montgomery a message at ramontgomery@cbe.ab.ca.

Please make sure all the game's pieces and items are back in the bag before returning it back to the school.

Report Cards

Report cards are a valuable tool that help you understand your child’s progress, celebrate their growth, and identify areas where additional support may be helpful. Reviewing the report card together can also spark meaningful conversations about learning goals and next steps for your child.

Report cards will be available online on February 24 through your parent MyCBE account. After May 29, 2026, all Semester 1 reports cards will no longer be available for viewing, downloading and/or printing. We encourage all families to log in, take some time to look through the information provided, and reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or would like to discuss anything in more detail.
